Still seems weird to me. Tim said that he nearly didn't make it into the garage when he came home this afternoon. It hasn't snowed since before the new year, so this is all fresh today. For those of you who live here or live somewhere else in the snow this is not a big deal. Just thought I'd share with those of you who don't have to shovel big piles of the white stuff off your driveway.
The kids went back to school today. Will really resisted (has been doing this for awhile) and tried to tell us it was too windy to go to school. The bus was WAY late because of the roads, but it finally got here and he got on willingly. His daily report said that he did well today. I was expecting a rough first day back. As Russell walked out the door this morning he was still in disbelief that we wouldn't drive him to school. He tried his hardest, but to no avail. Autumn didn't think twice about walking to school. Interesting.
Tim went to work at the kitchen and I spent the morning cleaning the house in my fuzzy pants and turtleneck. Then when I stopped moving so much I started to freeze again. So I threw on a hoodie and made a hot cup of cinnamon spice tea. In a couple of hours I'll get started on dinner - taco salad and cornbread. Then Tim is going back to the kitchen to vacuum seal and I'll yell at the kids to get their butts to bed so I can sit on the couch with more hot tea. Just kidding. I don't yell - very much. Unless they pretend to not hear me and I lose my patience because it's the end of the day and the sun is down and I'm still cold and my back hurts and all I want to do is sit on the couch. Aren't you glad I'm here to give you a run down of my exciting day?? Ha! Honestly, I'm not complaining. I thank GOD that I have the peaceful, happy life that I have. All I have to do is turn on the news to realize that I have it GOOD. Or watch 'Everybody Loves Raymond' so that I can be grateful I don't have a marriage like Ray and Debra's. Oy Vei.

Tara, What I difference in your life and mine...temperature that is! We are in shorts and T's, Howie loves it...I would like to be able to wear a sweatshirt once in a while. The yelling part...well, I yell "get your butts to bed" daily. Happy New Year. -Joy

When I told Dad about Russell wanting a ride Monday morning after our web visit, he said "Oh, why don't they take him? Poor kid...it's so cold, it's no big deal, it's not that far!"
